Section of the Shasta Sunset Train waiting to be boarded. It was a very nice trip. The meal was very good however, on Thanksgiving there is only two choices, ham or Turkey. We would like to go on the Wine Tasting or Mystery train someday. On New Years Eve, they plan to have a live band and Dance coach.

McCloud is a very small town that has a lot of vacation homes. We liked it and look forward to going back to visit when the shops are open.

Daniel on the far right waiting for us to finish our wine (Nicola and I were still in the Van) Dennis took this picture. The white tent on the left is the entrance to the section we boarded. We dined in a section that had chairs and tables. Next time I'll request the section that has booths, which looked it had more elbow room.

Nicola took this picture of Dennis and I. The table setting was very attractive. They had sprinkled little gold and silver sparkles shaped like trees etc on the white table cloth.

This is a map showing where the train goes. We boarded in McCloud and headed East towards Mt. Shasta. The round trip tour lasted 3 hours. During that time we had a typical Turkey meal, with choice of Pumpkin or Apple pie to follow.

We'd love to go this winter after the snow falls. It was cool outside on our trip, but no sign of snow. Although Mt.Shasta mountain in the distance was completely covered in snow.

This is also a picture from their web site. I did look in this coach before we headed for our section. And this section looked much nicer than this picture, the table setting really were very attractive. They also had some booths that seated 6, and across from the six-seater booths was a two-seater booth. We were in the Lassen coach, and plan to ask for the Shasta coach next time.
